This stately room is just steps away from the balcony off the front of the mansion ~ the perfect place to unwind, relax and watch the world go by.  The traditional English décor is done in shades of hunter green and burgundy with a grandiose turned post and slatted panel queen size canopy bed as the highlight of the room.  For those cool evenings you can cozy up to the corner gel-fueled fireplace in the room.  Large windows facing East offer views of the large front lawn. The room features 12 foot ceilings with overhead fan, air conditioning for the warmer summer weather and black-out drapes for a restful nights’ sleep. All guest rooms include cable TV/Roku, complimentary Wi-Fi and universal charging station for your convenience.

History behind the name

William Wadsworth was born in 1765 in Durham, Connecticut.  William Wadsworth was a scion of the prominent Wadsworth family of Connecticut. He was a sixth generation descendant of William Wadsworth (1595–1675) who was one of the Founders of Hartford, Connecticut. In 1790, with his charismatic brother James Wadsworth, he moved from Connecticut to the Genesee Valley of Western New York State.
